A thief from Stevenage has been sentenced to six months in prison for shoplifting.
Patrick Turner, aged 34, of Stirling Close was arrested on Friday, August 20.
He appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (August 31), where he pleaded guilty to stealing from the One Stop Shop in Stevenage's Broadwater Crescent on August 25, 26 and 28.
Items he stole included coffee and alcohol.
Investigating officer PC Terry Thompson said: "Shoplifting is an ongoing issue in Stevenage at this time and I hope this result provides reassurance to both businesses and residents that we take all reports of theft seriously."
