A man has sadly passed away in Hitchin this afternoon (September 3), after police responded to a concern for welfare call.
Officers were called at 12.34pm following a report of concern for the welfare of a man in Old Hale Way.
Officers attended alongside the ambulance service but unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the man lost his life.
His death is not thought to be suspicious, but road closures are in place and officers remain at the scene.
"Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this difficult time," said a spokesperson for Herts police.
