Hitchin could be getting a new GAIL's bakery after the popular chain revealed they are hiring staff for a branch in the town.
A posting on the GAIL's website appears to reveal that the company are looking for an assistant manager to help open a new store in Bancroft, Hitchin.
GAIL's currently has sites in St Albans, Harpenden and Redbourn but no presence in Hitchin or neighbouring Stevenage.
The chain has long been a hit with customers since opening its first bakery in London back in 2005.
GAIL's now has over 100 branches and is showing no signs of slowing down - announcing plans earlier this year to keep expanding.
Earlier this month, GAIL's was at the centre of a controversy, when residents in Walthamstow in east London protested against plans to build a branch in their town, arguing that it would damage independent businesses.
Few details about the new bakery are known, with no official announcement, location or relevant planning history.

When approached for more details about the potentially exciting news, a spokesperson for GAIL's declined to comment, saying they had "nothing to share at the moment".
So, while the chain remains tight lipped, we will just have to wait and see when and where the "boutique bakery" pops up in the town.
