September is set to see a raft of changes to bus timetables affecting passengers in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire

Centrebus has announced changes to several of their local bus services in the Luton and Hertfordshire areas from Sunday, September 1 (2024).

The 96 and 96A between Arlesey and Stotfold will no longer be operated by Centrebus following end of contract with the local authority.

Between Welwyn Garden City and Hertford, the 324 service will adopt a revised afternoon timetable to improve reliability.

Additionally, there will be more off-peak journeys introduced to and from Welwyn Garden City for the 366 bus travelling through Luton, Harpenden and Welwyn Garden City.

A new hourly Sunday service is being introduced to the 401 between Welwyn Garden City and Panshanger. The Sunday service between Welwyn Garden City, Woodhall and Queen Elizabeth II Hospital will be reduced to hourly due to low-usage.

Centrebus said it announced the changes off the back of "monitoring" its network of local bus services at "regular intervals".

Some services are provided on behalf of the local authority and a number of those have also been reviewed in partnership with the local authorities to introduce changes.

Keith Myatt, head of business development at Centrebus, said: “We have worked closely with several local authorities to deliver the revised network of local bus services in the Luton and Hertfordshire areas.

"We look forward to welcoming our regular customers back on-board and also welcome new customers who we’re sure will find travelling by bus a viable alternative to using the car.”
