Hitchin Honey Spiced Rum has won a prestigious Great Taste Award, much to the delight of its producer.
Cardona & Son Spirit Co’s drink was described by judges as "quirky with a unique flavour", as it received a one-star award.
Hitchin Honey Spiced Rum was one of 5,590 products to receive a Great Taste Award in 2024, with Jane Cardona, from Cardona & Son Spirit Co. describing it as an "incredible honour".
"We’re beyond excited to have won a Great Taste award for our Hitchin Honey Spiced Rum," she said.
"It’s an incredible honour to be recognized among such amazing companies, and we’re extremely proud to add that prestigious black and gold Great Taste badge to our delicious Hitchin Honey Spiced Rum.
"Almost five years ago, we started this small family business, and seeing where we are now feels like a dream come true. Getting a Great Taste one-star means so much to independent producers like us.
"It really makes all the hard work and dedication worth it! Great Taste is the ultimate badge for quality and taste in the food and drink world, so this is a huge moment for us."
