A section of the A1(M) was shut this morning (August 20) following a crash involving seven vehicles.
Police officers, paramedics and firefighters attended the scene at around 9am after reports of a pile-up on the southbound carriageway at junction 8 Stevenage.
The collision involved multiple vehicles - a white DAF Trucks lorry, a yellow Fiat Ducato van, a white Citreon Berlingo van, a black Ford Fiesta, a white BMW 520, a black Volkswagen Polo, and a blue BMW X3.
Minor injuries were treated at the scene and one person was taken to Lister Hospital for further treatment.
The road has now reopened and traffic, which had built up to junction 9 at Letchworth Gate, is now slowly moving.
