A 21-year-old man from Hitchin has denied murder after the death of a man at Ickleford Sports and Recreation Club earlier this year.
Oscar Jackson, of Wilshere Crescent, pleaded not guilty to one charge of murder and another for manslaughter at Peterborough Crown Court on August 8.
On Sunday, June 16, police and ambulance crews were called to the Chambers Lane site at around 10.30pm, following reports of an assault in the car park.
The victim, who was aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital, where despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he died from his injuries.
Tributes, including flowers, candles and a South African flag, were laid at the scene by family and friends following his death.
A trial date has been set for November 18 and Mr Jackson remains on bail.
