Following a Ed Sheeran fan frenzy at London Colney's Sainsbury's store earlier this week, we've taken a look back at the times celebrities have visited Hertfordshire over the last few years.
1) Ed Sheeran, London Colney
Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran paid a visit to Sainsbury's in London Colney on Tuesday this week, with excited fans flocking to the event promoting his new hot sauce brand.
"It was super exciting popping into Sainsbury’s and surprising some shoppers," he said.
"Tingly Ted's has been such a fun project so far, hope everyone is enjoying mixing it with whatever food they like, I’m still discovering meals that it makes even better."
Fans came from all over to catch a glimpse of the star, who signed shoppers' various food items with his signature sauce.
2) Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis, Rickmansworth
The celebrity 'it couple', who both starred in 'That '70s Show' were spotted in Rickmansworth earlier this month.
Multiple Rickmansworth residents have said they were shocked to see Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis enjoying a day out in the town on Sunday (August 4).
Staff at the Starbucks in High Street said the power couple dropped in briefly to buy some water at around 4pm.
3) Richard Gere, Bushey
Richard Gere took selfies with staff and owners after enjoying a meal at St James Restaurant in Bushey on July 30 this year.
The Pretty Woman actor turned up at the modern gastro-dining restaurant with his chauffer and reportedly told owner Alfonso Lacava that he “loved” his dinner.
“Everybody was shocked, we didn’t expect it. It was incredible to have him in our restaurant," he said.
4) Winona Ryder, Preston
In May 2023, Stranger Things star Winona Ryder was spotted filming at the former Princess Helena College in Preston, near Hitchin.
It was later revealed she was on set filming for the Beetlejuice sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - with trailers for the movie also starring Jenna Ortega and Michael Keaton now out.
The rumours were confirmed when pictures of Ryder, who is reprising her role as Lydia Deetz, were snapped showing her sitting in the passenger seat of a Tesla leaving the disused school.
The 51-year-old was sat beside the male driver, thought to be co-star Michael Keaton, with the car kitted out with camera equipment.
5) Keanu Reeves, Tring
Back in February 2023, Keanu Reeves surprised staff and residents at the Robin Hood pub in Tring.
The Matrix star popped in for a spot of lunch.
The pub wrote: “He marched into the kitchen, shook their hands and praised them for the food they had prepared. Suffice to say he made their days!”
6) Timothée Chalamet, St Albans
In March 2022, Timothée Chalamet was spotted filming for Wonka! in St Albans' Verulamium Park.
Film crews had arrived at the park a week prior and began building sets around the lake and near Ye Olde Fighting Cocks pub on Abbey Mill Lane.
Wonka! a prequel to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, was released in the UK in December 2023.
7) Harry Styles and Emma Corrin, Hitchin
Harry Styles and Emma Corrin took a dip at Hitchin's Outdoor Pool in June 2021 while filming for the Amazon Prime movie My Policeman.
While the pool was closed for the day, plenty of speculation around the filming was circulating, before finally in June 2022 pictures were released of the pair at the pool ahead of the movie's release.
