If you're looking for something fun to do with your children this summer that won't break the bank, why not head to Mr Mulligans Lost World Golf on Stevenage Leisure Park?

With two 18-hole crazy golf courses - boasting themes of ocean and jungle - and a bar and café which has recently undergone refurbishment, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained.

Being an indoor venue, it offers the perfect place to beat the heat, or escape the rain.

I recently went along with my family and we had a great time!

Both crazy golf courses are very imaginative and great fun to play.

The ocean-themed course features a popular glow-in-the-dark section, and you even get to play one hole inside a vessel.

Meanwhile, the jungle-themed course is over two-levels, with the fun of watching your golf ball descend down a series of tubes to the lower level always a hit with the little ones!

To make things even more interesting, staff members gave us challenges for a couple of the holes - from hitting the ball while hopping on one leg, to creating an obstacle for the other players in our party.

All the staff were friendly and attentive, offering drinks around the course and checking everyone was having a good time.

While we were there, we sampled some of the food - a BBQ chicken pizza, ham pizza and sharing nachos. It was all very tasty and, at around £13 for a pizza that is easily big enough to share, a reasonable price.

An added bonus is that some of the tables in the café have board games printed on them, such as snakes and ladders and a game similar to Ludo. You can just ask a member of staff for some dice and tokens and away you go - a perfect way to entertain little ones while you're waiting for your food.

The venue also has a full bar and bespoke cocktail station, so it caters for adults as well as children.

All in all, it's a great trip out, providing family fun at a reasonable cost.

Tickets for one crazy golf course at Mulligans are £8.25 for children and £11 for adults, with the option of a family ticket (for four people) for £32.

If you fancy trying out both courses, you can enjoy a heavily discounted price, at £11 for children and £14 for adults, or a family ticket for £40.

The weekday special includes a game of pizza and a round of golf for two people for £25, and is available from 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday.

There is also a date night option of a round of golf, house drink each and a nacho platter to share for £35 per couple.
