A 54-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a public order offence in Hitchin.
Officers were called to Bancroft at around 5.50pm on Tuesday, July 30, after it was reported that an individual was heard using abusive language.
The suspect has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Detective sergeant Samantha Casey, from the North Herts Local Crime Unit, said: “As part of our investigation, I am appealing for witnesses to please come forward.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been walking in the area around Bancroft Recreational Ground and heard something to get in touch.
