The former landlord of The Standing Order pub in Stevenage High Street has been fined after being found guilty of assault by beating.

Bradley Cartwright was arrested and charged following an incident in Park Place in Stevenage town centre in December last year.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence in February, but was found guilty in June.

Cartwright was sentenced at Stevenage Magistrates' Court last week. He must pay a fine of £290, and has been given a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim for two years.

Cartwright was the designated premises supervisor for The Standing Order pub in Stevenage Old Town, until JD Wetherspoon plc replaced him in March.
