A charity golf day in Stevenage has raised almost £5,000 for MAGPAS Air Ambulance.
Les Harrison, this year's senior's captain at Stevenage Golf & Conference Centre, organised the event on July 17 and chose a charity after a family member was involved in an accident last year.
Les said: "The Air Ambulance arrived within minutes, but unfortunately, they were unable to save him. I made it my mission to raise as much money as possible during my captaincy of the Stevenage senior section."
Featuring an 18-hole golf competition as well as raffles and an auction, Les exceeded his aim of raising £3,000 - which covers the cost of one air ambulance call out - by raising more than £4,900, with golfers from the senior's section, men's section and ladies section all getting involved.

"With the support of all the seniors and the men's and ladies' sections, plus many individual sponsors, we managed to raise in excess of £4,900," Les said. "I'll continue with my 'nearest the pin' bottle of wine on our medal days, so we will get well past £5,000."
Luke Simkins, Everyone Active’s regional contract golf manager said: "We're incredibly proud of Les and all our members for their generous support of MAGPAS Air Ambulance.
"This event showcases the power of our golfing community to make a real difference in supporting crucial emergency services."
