A dog, believed to be an XL bully, has reportedly attacked another dog in Letchworth.

At around 9.30am on Thursday (July 25), police received reports of a dog being dangerously out of control.

A woman was walking her dog in fields behind North Herts Leisure Centre off Baldock Road when an off-lead dog with a pink collar - believed to be a female XL bully - attacked her dog. The woman's pet did not suffer any physical injuries.

The owner of the apparent XL bully is described as a white man, around 40 to 50 years of age, with a bald head. He was wearing knee-length shorts and a light-coloured T-shirt, and was part of a group of four or five people.

PC Callum Ellis, investigating, said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of this incident and saw what happened.

“I am also appealing for the owner of the dog to come forward.
