Refurbished play areas across Stevenage have been reopening as the summer holidays get under way.
Open day events were held last week at Camps Hill and Shearwater Close play areas, with more than 150 children coming along, and areas at Parishes Mead and Lapwing Rise have also reopened.
They will be joined on Friday (August 2) by play areas at Canterbury Way Playing Fields, Riccat Lane and Chancellors Road.
£455,000 has been spent on the seven play areas, with a further £175,000 being spent on the refurbishment of the play area at Town Centre Gardens.
That was originally expected to be completed in time for the school holidays too, but was recently pushed back to a September opening.

Earlier this year, the council asked residents and children the top five items of play equipment they would most like to see in the new designs.
More than 250 children helped to decide what should be integrated into each, and new equipment will include trampolines, a group swing and activity trails.
The council also worked with Make Space for Girls and will be including hang out spaces for girls to enjoy, particularly at Canterbury Way Playing Fields.
A council spokesperson said: “It is great to see our excellent new play areas come to fruition and to already have seen so many children enjoying the equipment.
"We have received lots of positive feedback from young people and their families, and we hope that the play areas will be enjoyed for many years to come.”
