A Shefford-based running club has completed its first food bank run to gather donations for people in need.
The Shefford Runners held the event on Monday, July 22 to support The Need Project, which helps individuals and families experiencing poverty and financial crisis.
Run leader Julie Tribe contacted Gordon Hamilton from The Need Project and organised the run to Shefford Methodist Church.
Two cars were allocated to ferry the donations while club members ran to the church.
Julie Tribe said: "I am so proud and blown away by the amount of donations collected by the club, which will make such a difference to people experiencing hardship and poverty.
"A running community supporting the local community!"
The Need Project's mission is to provide practical and compassionate assistance to those in need, offering free food parcels and, when possible, furniture and clothing.
