Thameslink have issued a warning about the potential impact of network-wide IT issues on trains in Hertfordshire.
A statement on their website says that the IT issues are due to the "worldwide IT issue affecting multiple companies and industries".
Companies across the world have been affected by the incident, with airports, GP surgeries and banks among those affected.
In Hertfordshire, Thameslink said that as a result of the issues "some train operators are unable to access driver diagrams at certain locations, leading to potential short-notice train cancellations".
"Additionally, other key systems, including real-time customer information platforms, are also affected."
Thameslink are advising all customers to check their website for updates, and to check their journey before they travel.
Customers with tickets for Great Northern, Thameslink, Southern and Gatwick Express Services are able to use them on the following other services at no additional cost:
- South Western Railway between Dorking and London Waterloo
- Southeastern on all services between London and Kent
- London Underground across all zones
- London Buses across London, including towards Sevenoaks
- LNER between London Kings Cross and Peterborough/Stevenage
- Docklands Light Railway across all routes
