London Luton Airport (LLA) has been named as the Best European Airport in an awards ceremony.
The airport outperformed Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport and Brussels Airport, two other finalists, in the 10-25 million passengers category at the ACI Europe Best Airport Awards.
The awards give focus to "the crème de la crème of the industry", honouring the achievements of airport operators across ACI Europe's membership.
Alberto Martin, chief executive officer at London Luton Airport, said: "We are all absolutely thrilled that ACI Europe has named London Luton Airport as one of Europe’s best airports.
"The award recognises LLA's performance and achievements across a wide range of disciplines, as well as all-round resilience and adaptability.
"I am extremely proud of every member of LLA staff as this fantastic recognition is testament to the passion, commitment and professionalism shown by our dedicated teams across the airport."
The airport reached Level 4 'Transformation' of the ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation programme, aiming for a net-zero target by 2040.
LLA further expanded choices for passengers with the introduction of 18 new shops, restaurants, and two lounges.
The airport also launched a 30-minute express rail service from central London and limited the operational impact of the major car park fire in October 2023.
