Kate Garraway presents Stevenage care manager with award

Sarah Armstrong, who has been with Bluebird Care Stevenage & North Herts since 2012, was named Care Manager of the Year (Community) at the Palliative Care & End of Life Awards.

Hosted by television presenter Kate Garraway and Magic FM's Neev Spencer, the awards ceremony - held at London's Regents Park Marriott Hotel on June 28 - celebrated the exceptional work of individuals and organisations in the palliative and end-of-life care sector.

Speaking after her win, Sarah said: “This is an absolute honour and this award is also for my team. I do a job that I love and to be recognised is a privilege and I will continue doing what I can to support the people that need me and their families and loved ones.”

Bluebird Care Stevenage & North Herts was also nominated for the Care Team Award, highlighting their commitment to providing outstanding care.

Radio personality Neev Spencer said of Sarah: “I can see how much it means to you, you are an incredible woman who has given up so much of your own family time, social time and your time to look after the people that you have cared for as they have left this world.”

Both Neev and Kate have personal experiences with caring for loved ones and they spoke about the importance of the carers' work.
