Herts police have confirmed they have made an arrest following the murder of three women in Hertfordshire this week.
In an update today, a spokesperson shared that a 26-year-old man from Enfield, understood to be the suspect Kyle Clifford, was arrested yesterday evening (July 11) on suspicion of three counts of murder.
At around 7pm on Tuesday (July 9), Carol Hunt, 61, the wife of BBC Five Live’s John Hunt, and two of their daughters Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28, were found fatally injured in Ashlyn Close, Bushey.
The force launched a manhunt across Hertfordshire and north London, searching through the night and the following day, which concluded when Kyle Clifford was found injured in Lavender Hill Cemetery, in the north London area, on Wednesday afternoon. No shots were fired by police.
Clifford was taken to a major trauma centre for treatment that day, but as of Thursday afternoon remained in a “serious condition” and was yet to speak with officers at that stage.
A crossbow was recovered as part of the investigation.
Detective Superintendent Rob Hall said: “Our thoughts remain with the victims’ family at this tragic time.
“The investigation is moving at pace and as a result, we have now arrested a man. Enquiries are continuing at this time.”
