A popular online waffle shop is opening its first physical shop, with a pop up venue set to launch in St Albans.

Based in Hitchin, Waffle Wands was set up in 2015 by brother and sister team Louie and Sophie, initially specialising in weddings.

They provide freshly baked warm waffles with a variety of toppings, as well as pancakes, crumbles and S'mores.

Now they're launching their first shop, which opens tomorrow (July 13) at the Maltings Shopping Centre.

They say that the shop will remain there for the "foreseeable future".

Over the last nine years, Waffle Wands has provided stalls for a number of corporate clients including the Football Association, Warner Brothers and the University of Oxford.

It's also traded at major festivals including Reading and Parklife.

Announcing the news, Louie said: "Me and my sister are absolutely buzzing to announce we’ll be opening our first pop-up shop in the centre of the Maltings.

"I want to give a massive 'thank you' to everyone who’s supported our small family business over the years and for all your lovely messages online. We’ve been on a crazy journey and we’re hoping this can be the start of something special, which we can’t wait to share that with you all."
