Variety Express are bringing a Halloween-themed family musical to Letchworth this autumn.

Scary Tale will run at St Francis' Theatre from October 31 to November 3, with performances at 2pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from varietyexpress.org.uk or by calling the box office on 0333 666 366, and all tickets sold before July 8 are 25 per cent off.

The show follows a character who inherits a creaky, abandoned mansion, and alongside her two best friends takes on a quest to locate the lost deeds.

Along the way, they bump into a mad scientist living in the basement, a trio of cat-ladies claiming to be witches, a sleep-deprived vampire, and ghosts of varying degrees of usefulness.

Variety Express has been putting on shows in Herts, Beds and surrounding areas for the past 44 years, and has raised more than £130,000 for charity.

Last year they donated £7,000 to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) of Hertfordshire.

A Variety Express spokesperson said: "We were, and still are, extremely proud as a group of enthusiastic volunteers to have achieved this by doing something we all love."

This year Variety Express has voted to support MNDA Hertfordshire again, as well as the Young Carers Crew Hertfordshire.
