A dad has taken part in a challenge which saw two men run seven marathon distances, in seven countries, in seven days, in memory of his two-year-old daughter, who died of a rare brain tumour last year.

Orla Tuckwell, from Hertfordshire, was diagnosed with a rare malignant brain tumour called Medulloblastoma in October 2022 and sadly died less than a year later.

Adam's friends, Will Ridgway and Tim Basler, took on seven marathon distances, in seven countries, in seven days to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in memory of Orla.

The challenge has raised more than £12,000, which will be used to help pay for a new patient room at GOSH, as part of a new world-leading children's cancer centre.

The journey started on June 8 in London, where Adam joined Will and Tim for the first marathon distance.

Will and Tim then travelled to run marathon distances in Brussels, Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich and Milan, before finishing in Paris, where Adam met them for the final run on June 14.

Adam said: "I am lost for words when I try to explain how grateful I am to Will and Tim for taking on such a mammoth challenge in memory of our beautiful Orla.

"They have put their bodies and minds through hell to get through these seven days, and have done it all in support of my family, and in memory of our beautiful Orla. I am forever indebted to them.

"They were both suffering from all kinds of injuries when I met them in Paris - swollen ankles, blistered feet, damaged Achilles - the list is endless, but they didn't complain once.

"Both Will and Tim always said that it was nothing in comparison to what Orla had to endure, and they were constantly inspired by her courage and strength.

"With the continued support of our amazing friends and family, we will continue to tell Orla's story, raise money for amazing charities and try to do some good in this world in memory and honour of our beautiful girl."
