Police have reopened a section of the A1M at Stevenage this morning after it was closed to deal with a "an incident on a bridge."
The road was closed in both directions between junction 6 and 7.
Police confirmed at 4.30am they were called to deal with the incident near junction 7 (Stevenage A602) but about two hours later updated that the road had reopened.
A Herts Police spokesman said: "All closures have now been lifted. Motorists are thanked for their patience while we worked to bring the incident to a safe conclusion."
