A man from Hitchin has been charged with murder after another man died from injuries suffered during an assault in Ickleford.
Oscar Jackson, 21, of Wilshere Crescent in Hitchin, has been charged with murder and remanded in custody following the death of a male in his 40s.
Police were called to the car park of Ickleford Sports and Recreation Club in Chambers Lane in at around 10.30pm on Sunday, June 16, following reports of an assault.
The victim was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Ickleford Sports and Recreation Club closed following the incident, with a post on their Facebook page reading: "Due to unforeseen circumstances we will be shut until further notice, please bear with us when we reopen we will post on page date unknown."
