A group of cyclists are set to hit the road in a bid to raise money for Letchworth's Garden House Hospice Care.
The 'Pedal for Angels' challenge will take place on Saturday, June 15 and will see cyclists undergo a gruelling 113-mile journey from Stevenage to Portsmouth.
Setting off from the Toby Carvery car park, the journey is expected to take around 15 hours - 12 hours riding time with planned breaks.
It's all in aid of an excellent cause with the group raising money for Garden House Hospice Care, which will help to provide end of life care.
Bhupinder Mann, who organised the event, is raising money in memory of his mother-in-law Lorraine Matthews. Indeed, many of the cyclists taking part are doing so to honour the memory of a loved one.
Joining him will be Addul Mohammad, who's raising money in memory of his sister Rohima Bibi, as well as Danielle Cracknell who will pedal in memory of Pat Bailey and Paul Martin.
Bhupinder said: "Every pedal stroke, every mile covered, and every donation collected will bring us closer to achieving our fundraising goal and, more importantly, closer to creating tangible improvements for individuals and communities facing challenges.
He added: "We would like to show our appreciation to this great hospice how well they looked after our loved ones and the support they gave was above and beyond"
Organisers note that most people will require the use of a hospice at some point in their lives, either for themselves or family members.
It costs Garden House Hospice Care £7.7 million a year to run, meaning it needs to raise £15,300 every single day to operate.
The Pedal for Angels team have already raised £1,200 of a £1,500 target and you can donate or sign up to join the riders by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/page/pedalforangels?
