Tell Me Everything series 2 on ITV2 and ITVX set in Hitchin

Created by Mark O'Sullivan, the first series was set in Welwyn Garden City, with location filming also taking place in Hatfield, Letchworth and Watford.

Scenes of series 2 were filmed in North Hertfordshire — in Hitchin, where the series is now based, and Letchworth.

Picking up where the first series left off, we discover that central character Jonny and his family have now moved to Hitchin — a new house, new college, and a fresh start.

Jonny, played by Eden H Davies, is continuing his journey of recovery, and has started to make friends with other students at college — Naisha, Dylan, Ella and Bex.

Ella is impulsive, often putting herself in dangerous situations. Naisha is newly single, and although she claims to be happy about this, she’s often the third wheel to best-friend Dylan and his boyfriend Tommy.

Dylan has spent several years of his life in care and he is staying at best friend Naisha’s, despite hating the feeling of being the charity case that this gives him.

And Bex, who is also new to Jonny’s college, is unsure of herself around this new gang.

Together, they face the highs and lows, trials and tribulations of teenage life at a Hitchin college.

Screenwriter and executive producer Mark O’Sullivan, who grew up in Welwyn Garden City, said: “Returning to the world of Tell Me Everything for series 2 feels utterly surreal.

"The show is so close to my heart — I hope audiences will connect with the characters at the heart of this story, and take some comfort in knowing they are not alone, even when going through the toughest of times.”

Tell Me Everything arrives on ITV2 and ITVX for season 2 on Thursday, June 6. Episode 1 of the new series airs on ITV2 at 10.05pm after Love Island.

Eden H. Davies returns to the role of Jonny Murphy in the coming-of-age drama.

Joining him for series 2 are Nethra Tilakumara as Naisha, George Hawkins, who plays Dylan, Sophie Ablett, who plays Ella, and Daisy Jacob as Bex. 

Levi Mattey plays Josh, Ammar Duffus is Luke, and Dylan Brady stars as Tommy.

Explaining how Jonny has ended up relocating from Welwyn Garden City to Hitchin, Eden H Davies said: "After the death of Jonny’s dad, they couldn’t really afford to keep the pub on, so they sold it at the end of season one and moved to Hitchin.

"I’m from Wrexham but I have this idea of what London and around about it is like and Hitchin and Welwyn seem to have the same vibe."

So has Jonny told his new group of friends about his mental health struggles that we saw in season one?

"At the beginning, he keeps his problems very much to himself, but I think he is more mature now.

"In Welwyn Garden City we saw Jonny with friends like Louis and Neve that he had probably known since he was knee-high.

"Now in Hitchin, we see how he moulds and develops with this new group."

Jonny does talk online with Louis from his old Welwyn Garden gang.

"It was really lovely to work with Spike Fearn again," said Eden. "Afterwards we went out for a beer and caught up. We still talk a lot."

Daisy Jacob plays Jonny's new love interest Bex Keaton in Tell Me Everything.

"We don’t see much of Bex’s life before she moved to Hitchin but there are references to issues she’s had with bullying which is important for the audience to know because it has sown this seed of self-doubt in her, leading her to shy away from being friends with anyone," said Daisy.

"Bex is looking for a new start."

Eden H Davies adds: "Jonny has figured out that Bex goes to his new college and that she works at the bowling alley.

"So, he wangles himself an invite to go bowling with his new friendship group just to get to talk to her."

Tell Me Everything returns for season 2 on June 6.
