Visitors travelling through Letchworth Garden City station will soon enjoy a colourful display thanks to 24 cubs who planted 400 flower bulbs.
The youngsters from the 4th Letchworth Cubs worked in the rain, improving the station’s look and feel as part of the national Platforms for Change scheme, run between the Community Rail Network and scouts.
Station manager, Karen Chudovszky, said: "It was brilliant to involve the 4th Letchworth Cubs in this project and I’m sure customers will be pleased to see some beautiful new flowers at our station."
In addition to planting bulbs, the cubs, together with members from the GTR and Meldreth, Shepreth and Foxton Community Rail Partnership, created bug hotels and tidied the station on May 22.
