Churchill Retirement Living is inviting Hitchin’s veterans and over 60s to a D-Day 80th Anniversary event.
The celebration, between 2pm and 4pm on May 9, will take place at Dovehouse Lodge on Wratten Road.
There will be free refreshments and a chance for attendees to share their memories in the relaxed environment of the Owners’ Lounge on offer.
Dovehouse Lodge is a popular choice for over 60s seeking independent retirement living, providing safety, tranquillity, and societal support.
Churchill’s marketing manager Tunji Quadri said: "Our D-Day commemoration event is the perfect opportunity for local people to come and mark the anniversary of this huge moment in our history.
"We’d love to welcome anyone with interesting memories to share about the war, whether they experienced it first-hand or have a family member who played a part, it’s a time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we all enjoy today.
"It’s also a chance to meet our owners and our friendly team and learn about the freedom, security and independence that can be enjoyed in a new Churchill apartment.
"I’d encourage people to come and see for themselves the wonderful community atmosphere on offer here.”
You can call 01462 889692 or visit churchillretirement.co.uk to register for the event.
