What happened?
Officers were called to Woodview Lodge in Hitchin Road between 9.40pm and 10pm on Tuesday, following reports of a firearm being discharged.
Bedfordshire Police have now stepped up their presence in the area through proactive patrols.
Was anyone injured?
One man in his 20s and another in his 30s, were treated at hospital for serious injuries, although these are not believed to be life-threatening.
Has anyone been arrested?
The Comet is working to establish if anyone has been arrested, after efforts were made to apprehend a suspect on Thursday (April 11).
At around 8.45pm, a police helicopter was seen and heard flying above the town centre, with Bedfordshire Police later confirming it was part of a search operation to locate and arrest a suspect involved in the shooting.
"The aircraft was working with Bedfordshire officers executing a warrant to arrest a suspect involved with a firearms incident on Tuesday," said a Beds police spokesperson.
