Following more than a week of roadworks on the A1(M)'s northbound carriageway, the road between Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn village and Stevenage has fully reopened.
National Highways confirmed this morning (Saturday, March 30) that the motorway had been cleared between junctions 6 and 7 following works caused by "a significant defect".
Works have been taking place since last Tuesday (March 19), with one lane closed throughout.
The road was also subject to a full closure northbound from 9pm on Thursday (March 28) until 6am this morning.
