A new arts festival event is taking place at Hertford Castle in April.
Running from Saturday, April 13 to Saturday, April 20, HArts Fest will promote art and cultural events, activities and exhibitions within Hertford and the local area.
New for 2024 is the introduction of a standalone HArts Fest event on the main lawn of the beautiful Hertford Castle grounds, which will take place on Saturday, April 13, from noon to 4pm.
This one-day free family event will celebrate art and culture.
In partnership with local businesses and groups, visitors will be able to enjoy a series of art and craft stalls, arts and culture based activities.
A live programme of entertainment including music, dance and theatre will also be running throughout the day.
Hertford Castle will also be open for visitors to explore free of charge.
The full programme is available via the Hertford Town Council website at https://www.hertford.gov.uk/events-listings/harts-fest-2024/. Some charges for activities may apply.
Chair of Hertford Town Council’s development and leisure committee, Cllr Ann Woodward, said: “HArts Fest 2024 is set to be a fantastic celebration of art and culture in Hertford.
"We are lucky to have a wide range of organisations and businesses delivering cultural activities in the town, and Hertford Town Council will be working in partnership with them to ensure the HArts Fest delivers a programme that can be enjoyed by people of all ages this spring.”
Although subject to change, the main stage entertainment throughout the afternoon is set to feature performances from the Kristie Louise Dance Academy, Hertford Regional College performance art students, Just Love to Sing – Bengeo choir, Britain's Got Talent star Immi Davis, Somewhere 2 Sing, Tiny T’s Theatre, and Sabihah Stars.
Main lawn activities include a junk modelling workshop and scavenger hunt, Monkey Music sessions for babies and small children, pétanque, and fairy door decorating workshop with Tiny T's Theatre.
