Road closures and planning applications are among the key public notices set to affect residents in North Hertfordshire.

Here are a few notices which could impact residents in Hitchin, Baldock, Little Wymondley and the surrounding area in the coming months.
1. Closure of Ashtons Lane in Baldock
Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order banning all vehicles from the entire length of Ashtons Lane, north eastwards from its junction with Weston Way.
No alternative route will be available, and the order is being made to enable utility service works to be carried out.
The order will be in force for a period of up to 18 months from April 8, 2024, though it will not be closed for the entire time. Specific closure times will be advertised on signs by the road.
2. Closure of Priory Lane in Little Wymondley
Hertfordshire County Council has made an order banning all vehicles from a 432m length of Priory Lane, southwards from its junction with Graveley Road.

An alternative route will be available via Graveley Road, Arch Road, Stevenage Road and Priory Lane.
The order has been made to enable tree maintenance works to be carried out, and will be in force from March 25, 2024, for a period of up 18 months.
However, it will not be closed for the entire time, and specific closure times will be advertised on signs by the road.
3. Closure of Long Lane in Aston End
Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order banning all vehicles from a 235m length of Long Lane, between its junction with Tatlers Lane and its junction with Short Lane.
An alternative route will be available via Tatlers Lane and Short Lane.
The order is being made to enable utility service works to be carried out, and will be in force from April 9, 2024, for a period of up to 18 months.
However, it will not be closed for the entire time, and specific closure times will be advertised on signs by the road.
4. Extension to building on Woodlands, Park Street, Hitchin
A planning application has been submitted to North Herts Council for a single storey side extension to a property on Woodlands, Park Street.
The application also includes alterations to fenestration and external rendering.

5. Extension to building on Highbury Road, Hitchin
A planning application has been submitted to North Herts Council for a single storey side and rear extension to a property on Highbury Road in Hitchin.
The application also includes a new first floor side window, and front and rear rooflights to existing roofslopes.
