Plans to turn a former family centre in Stevenage into a laundrette have been approved by the borough council.
The applicant is hoping to open a laundrette at 5 The Hyde, taking down a partition wall to create more space.
Since June last year, the 88sqm unit has been vacant, with the council advertising its availability at a rental cost of £15,875 per year.
The application was submitted to the council on February 15, and approved by their planning officer a month later, on March 15.
Consultation with the council's estates department found that they supported the application for the change of use.
