A "scam company" has been contacting residents, claiming to be calling on behalf of Stevenage Borough Council (SBC), the local authority has warned.
A spokesperson for the council said: "We've been notified of a scam company contacting residents, claiming to be calling on behalf of SBC, or other housing associations, and asking about outstanding building or repair works.
"The number displays as 0330190 and ends with either 1851, 1254 or 1127.
"Please do not answer the phone to them, or give out any personal details."
