It's showtime! Movie fans now know the official title of the forthcoming Beetlejuice sequel filmed in Hertfordshire.

Starring Michael Keaton as the titular character, scenes of 'Beetlejuice 2' were shot on location at a former school near Hitchin last year.

With production based at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, Beetlejuice star Winona Ryder was spotted filming scenes of the movie sequel at the closed Princess Helena College site in Preston, Herts, last May.

Reprising her role as Lydia Deetz, the Hollywood A-lister was seen in costume driving out the gates of the disused school in a Tesla, with the car kitted out with camera equipment.

Warner Bros. Pictures and director Tim Burton have now revealed the sequel's name and it isn't Beetlejuice 2. The movie is officially titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Fans of the original fantasy horror comedy film will know saying the name 'Beetlejuice' three times summons the obnoxious "bio-exorcist".

One of the year's most eagerly awaited movies, the sequel is set for release on September 6, 2024 — 36 years after the original.

Sharing a picture of the new movie's first teaser poster, Warner Bros. Pictures wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Dare you to say it again. #Beetlejuice #Beetlejuice - Only in theaters September 6."

With the tagline 'The wait is almost over', the poster features a knowing nod to the end of the first film when Betelgeuse, played by Keaton, is stuck in the afterlife waiting room, holding a numbered ticket.

The ticket number in green being held on the new poster is 09,06,24 — the movie's scheduled release date of September 6, 2024.

As well as location filming in Hertfordshire, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was filmed across seven stages and the backlot at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.

The film and TV studio posted on Instagram: "Do you dare to say his name three times? @beetlejuicemovie arrives in cinemas on 6 September!

"We loved being home to this production, filmed across 7 of our stages and the studio backlot. #FilmedAtWBSL #Beetlejuice"

As well as the returning Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara, the movie also stars Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, and Justin Theroux.

Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams in Tim Burton's Netflix series Wednesday, is the daughter of Ryder’s character Lydia Deetz in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Monica Bellucci and Justin Theroux both also shared the new movie's film poster on social media.

Justin Theroux posted on Instagram: "Saying it twice a Dayyyyy-o is fine. Three times? No. beetlejuice movie #winonaforever"

No Beetlejuice Beetlejuice trailer has been released yet.

The first Beetlejuice movie came out in 1988.

Last November, director Tim Burton shared a picture of himself on Instagram in the waiting room holding a ticket, with the words: "Just finished shooting Beetlejuice. Thank you to everyone involved."

Burton shot scenes of the 1989 Batman movie starring Michael Keaton at Knebworth House and Hatfield House, with the Hertfordshire stately homes doubling up as Wayne Manor.

Keaton pulled on Batman's cape and cowl again in last year's The Flash, which was also made at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, with location filming taking place at Knebworth House.
