The number of crimes in each of our areas over the past year has been revealed by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The statistics run from September 2022 to September 2023, with crime decreasing slightly according to Hertfordshire police.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Recorded crime in Hertfordshire between April 2023 and mid-January 2024 had decreased by 1.1 per cent and when compared with its group of most similar police forces it had the lowest level of crime.

“Whilst this is encouraging, our focus remains on keeping crime levels low and reducing it further. Residents can help us achieve this by sharing their thoughts about local policing on our community voice platform, echo at bit.ly/herts-echo.”
