An application has been submitted to build 38 new council homes in Stevenage.
Stevenage Borough Council is hoping to build the properties on a site known as Cartref, in Symonds Green.
If approved, 26 four-bedroom homes can be constructed, as well as 12 one- and two-bedroom flats within a three-storey block.
Each semi-detached property would have two parking spaces and electric charging points, and most existing trees on the site would be retained.
The site is located off Redcar Drive and Clovelly Way, and most of the development would be served by a new road junction with Clovelly Way.
Currently, the site is mainly grassland, and was formerly used as a depot for council contractors.

Based on the expected additional demand for its services, the NHS has requested a £49,000 contribution if the application is approved.
The proposals have been significantly changed since a pre-application enquiry was made in 2020, when the council were hoping to build 95 homes including 72 flats.
The UK currently has a significant housing shortage, and the Stevenage Borough Local Plan for 2011-31 identified a need for 7,600 new homes in the area across that period.
Residents were consulted on the plans by the council towards the end of 2023.
Cllr Jeannette Thomas, housing portfolio holder at the council, previously thanked everybody who responded to the consultation, saying: "It’s an important part of our process to ensure everyone has the opportunity to have their say on the proposals.
"All our new housing developments, within Stevenage, are highly sustainable with state-of-the-art technology that also helps to reduce running costs for tenants too."
