A Hitchin animal hospital has celebrated its 25th anniversary by donating thousands of pounds to charity.
Davies Veterinary Specialists marked its silver jubilee in 2023 by undertaking 25 fundraising events.
As part of its anniversary commitment, the team at Davies successfully raised £5,550 for various charities and provided pro-bono services worth £20,000.
Ronan Doyle, hospital director at Davies Veterinary Specialists, said: "Our 2023 pledges had ambitious targets, so it’s been a fantastic team effort to surpass them.
"It made our 25th anniversary year even more special, especially as the pledges covered a wide range of activities, from raising money for good causes, to supporting the local community in various ways."
The hospital extended its community support by opening a sustainable reflection garden, which comes as an addition to its existing contributions towards environmental sustainability.
The hospital's team also made efforts to support local sports clubs such as the Hitchin Cricket Club, Blueharts Hockey Club, and the Cranfield Netball Club.
Additionally, it extended educational support to local schools and community groups.
This included members from the Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging team visiting a local Beavers group.
Professionals from the vets also organised CPD events for the wider veterinary community.
For the upcoming year, Davies has nominated Vetlife as its chosen charity.
Mr Doyle added: "Our ambition for 2024 is to raise money as a team for Vetlife but also support as many charities that are close to our hearts as possible.
"Davies has a kind, caring team and I know in 2024 they will show the same commitment which made our 25th year such a success."
Vetlife is an organisation that provides emotional, financial, and mental health support to the veterinary community and their families across the UK.
Furthermore, Davies team members will organise numerous charity events throughout the year for Vetlife or preferred charities.
As part of the Linnaeus group - a network of more than 50 primary care and 17 referral vet practices in the UK and Ireland - Davies Veterinary Specialists aim to deliver top-quality care to their patients.
