A new play area will open in Stevenage Town Centre Gardens in time for this year's school summer holidays, the local authority has promised.
The existing play area has been closed since summer 2022 "due to safety concerns resulting from the deterioration of the safety surfacing around the play equipment", Stevenage Borough Council has previously explained.
On Friday, the council concluded a consultation with children on what equipment they would like to see in a new play area there, promising that "these answers will then be collated and used to build the design".
Options included different types of swings and slides, a seesaw, trampoline, playhouse and adventure trails, as well as 'springies', climbers and a roundabout.
A council spokesperson said: "Please keep your eyes peeled! We will be opening the new play area ready for the school summer holidays."
