Hitchin's Walsworth Road is closed this evening after strong winds cause damage to business.

Police were called at around 4pm today (December 2) following reports of structural damage to a sign at Kwik-Fit.

Walsworth Road has been closed, with people being asked to avoid the area.

"Police were called at around 4pm today to report a concern for a building with structural damage to a sign. It is believed that strong winds has caused the damage," said a Herts police spokesman.

"Officers are currently in attendance at Kwik-Fit on Walsworth Road in Hitchin.

"Nobody has been hurt and Walsworth Road has been closed, we would ask people to please avoid the area."
