Boots in Stevenage town centre was temporarily closed earlier today (Thursday, December 28) following a suspected break-in.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire police told us that shortly after midnight today, three suspects reportedly forced entry into the store via the doorway. Multiple items were reportedly stolen, along with cash.
A sign appeared on the store earlier today stating that it would be temporarily closed, but it had fully re-opened by midday.
Three days ago - on Christmas Day - damage to the windows at the front of the store, at 43 Queensway, was reported to Hertfordshire police at around 2.51pm.
No access to the building was gained at that time, and police have not recorded it as a crime because it was unconfirmed whether the damage was new.
Police enquiries into the break-in are continuing, and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or report it online via www.herts.police.uk/ro/report, quoting crime reference number 41/103163/23.
A spokesperson for Boots said: “Following an incident overnight at Boots Stevenage Queensway, the store was partially closed this morning. The store is now back open and trading as normal.”
