Six more acts have been added to the Folk by the Oak 2024 line-up set for Hatfield Park next summer, joining headliners Levellers on the bill.
The uplifting summer festival of the finest folk, roots and acoustic music will return to the grounds of Hatfield House on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Following the recent announcement that legendary band Levellers will headline Folk by the Oak 2024, festival organisers have added six more names to their line-up, including internationally renowned artists and exciting up-and-coming talent.
Announced to headline the Hertfordshire festival’s second stage, the Acorn Stage, is Essex legend Beans on Toast, a prolific writer and performer renowned for live shows that are both unpredictable and memorable.
On booking Beans on Toast to headline, festival director Adam Slough said: “His no holds barred honesty and quick wit make Beans on Toast a firm festival favourite and we can’t wait to see him in action at Folk by the Oak!”
Kora master Seckou Keita is a firm favourite of Folk by the Oak audiences, having thrilled them as a both a solo performer and in collaboration with Catrin Finch and the Spell Songs band.
He returns to the festival Main Stage in 2024 with his new collaboration, the Homeland Band, featuring one of Senegal’s best-known vocalists, Korka Dieng, and Moustapha Gaye, lead guitarist for Youssou n’Dour, plus an array of exceptionally talented artists.
Also returning to Folk by the Oak’s Main Stage are The Young’uns.
Adam Slough said: “Their powerful songs, spine-tingling harmonies, heart-on-the-sleeve storytelling and raucous humour went down a storm at their last appearance, so we are delighted to welcome The Young’uns back to Folk by the Oak.”
Joining the Main Stage line-up in their first appearance in the festival’s leafy setting of Hatfield Park is The Furrow Collective, a collaboration between Lucy Farrell, Rachel Newton, Emily Portman and Alasdair Roberts.
Also announced for the Acorn Stage are the Malin Lewis Trio and the Grace Smith Trio, both offering an innovative and boundary pushing approach to folk music.
The award-winning composer and hugely talented performer Malin melds West Coast tradition with hair tingling, philosophical and dance inducing melodies, all played on their newly invented, self-made bagpipe, performing with Sally Simpson on fiddle and Ali Hutton on guitar.
Acclaimed fiddle and viola player Grace Smith is joined by Sam Partridge (concertina, electric guitar) and Bevan Morris (double bass) as The Grace Smith Trio.

Tickets cost from £48.50, children £22, and ages 4 and under are free.
Family and group offers are available, while 50p from every ticket sold is donated to charity partner Willow.
