A stolen bicycle has been returned to its "delighted" owner after being found abandoned in Stevenage.
A member of the public discovered the bicycle, and reported it to Hertfordshire police. Officers were able to scan the bike marker QR code on the bicycle, which instantly provided them with the details of the owner.
The officers contacted the owner, and returned the bicycle to them. It had been reported stolen on November 19.

The owner, who lives in Chells, was "delighted" to be reunited with it, according to a police spokesperson.
The Stevenage Safer Neighbourhood Team at Hertfordshire police works with businesses and schools to hold regular free bicycle marking activities.
In this case, the bicycle was able to be returned to its owner because they had had it marked in this way.
