Stevenage: Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick to open village fair

Ardeley St Lawrence, the village's Church of England primary school and nursery, will be welcoming the celebrity for their Christmas Fair, themed this year around 'The Magic of Ardeley'.

More than 20 local businesses will be in attendance, as well as a variety of food vans - and even Father Christmas and his head elf.

There'll be fun for all the family, with kids able to take part in an Elf Workshop where they can meet Father Christmas and his head elf, make reindeer food, decorate Christmas crafts, take an Elfie Selfie, and write and post their letters to Father Christmas.

Father Christmas and his head elf will come into the fair as part of a procession of bikers, led by Brethren's Barbers which is located Ardeley. Fiona Shaw, who owns the barbers with her husband Jayson, said: “Myself and my husband are so proud to support this event and give the kids some Christmas cheer.

"It’s a wonderful school, and every penny raised from the event will help support them.

"Ardeley is a small community, and we are all pulling together to support the school this Christmas."

Barbara Young, headteacher at the school, said: “From the glamour of Hollywood to the magic of Ardeley, preparations are in full throttle, so join us this festive season XOXO.

Parking will be at Church Farm. The event will open at 3.30pm and conclude at 6pm.
