A nursery and infants' school in Stevenage is seeking permission to install 255 solar panels on the roofs of its buildings.

Giles Nursery and Infants' School in Durham Road has applied to Stevenage Borough Council for planning permission to install 255 solar panels on its flat and sloping roofs, generating a total DC capacity (wattage) of approximately 110 kWp.

A supporting document says: "Neighbouring and residential properties around the school will not be able to see the proposed installation as they are to the north and east of the school.

"Any possible visibility from the east or Durham Road would only see the side view of the panels with its supporting structures, but even this would prove very difficult since the western perimeter has a line of trees."
