A free menopause support group has launched in Stevenage.
The monthly Menopause Café sessions at Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre, which is managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Stevenage Borough Council, aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where women can freely discuss their menopause journey.
Taking place in the centre's Healthy Hub, the workshops launched last month and are being led by active health and wellbeing manager Juanita Prescott.
She said: "The workshops provide an opportunity for women to meet in a relaxed surrounding, where they can feel comfortable to talk openly about the symptoms of the menopause.
"We delve into how lifestyle adjustments can effectively mitigate symptoms and reduce the risk of long-term health issues often associated with menopause, such as osteoporosis and heart disease."

Juanita continued: "The menopausal phase can be isolating and have a profound impact on our mental wellbeing. We are pleased to announce that NHS Talking Therapies will also be available to provide vital mental health support to our attendees."
Open to women in Stevenage experiencing menopause or perimenopause symptoms, the workshops will take place from 1pm to 2.30pm on October 20, November 24 and December 15, and will continue in 2024.
