Arriva is launching new bus routes for passengers in Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City.

Earlier this month, the operator altered the SB8 service so that it no longer calls at Bragbury End during the day time.

However, Bragbury End residents are set to be benefit from the launch of a new route, the SB18, which will run once per hour on weekdays and Saturdays.

As part of the changes, the SB8 will only run between Stevenage bus station and Symonds Green, with no services calling at Bragbury End.

Together with the existing Centrebus 907 service between Cheshunt and Stevenage, those living in Bragbury End will have two buses scheduled per hour.

The 907 route is also set for a change, with an additional early morning journey between Hertford and Stevenage, run by Arriva.

The second new route to be launched is the 908, which will run between Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage and will be operated by Arriva. It will also serve passengers in Knebworth and Welwyn.

All of the above changes are set to be implemented from Sunday, October 29.

A further new service will be launched the following month, from Sunday, November 19.

Arriva will run a limited stop 725 route between Stevenage and Rickmansworth, calling at Knebworth, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, St Albans and Watford.

It will operate once per hour on weekdays and Saturdays, and will form part of the 'Connect Herts' Bus Service Improvement Plan.

David Martin, secretary of Stevenage Bus Users Group, told the Comet that he "welcomes the return of the Bragbury End service, and looks forward to the increased Herts Connect services to provide faster journeys to further afield".
