Following concerns from residents about speeding and anti-social driving in the St Nicholas area of Stevenage, police officers have been carrying out patrols around Wedgewood Way, Canterbury Way and Martins Way.
Traffic Offence Reports have been issued to numerous drivers for speeding, not wearing seatbelts, and driving with no insurance and no MOT. One vehicle was also seized.
As part of regular patrols, Stevenage police officers have also been carrying out seatbelt safety checks in the town, making sure drivers and passengers are wearing seatbelts correctly, and using the correct child car seat, as well as educating motorists about the importance of in-car safety.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Numerous cars have been stopped and advice given, and in some cases, tickets issued.

"Failing to wear a seatbelt is one of the most common causes of serious injuries and deaths on the roads.
"Statistics show that not wearing a seatbelt means you are twice as likely to lose your life if you are involved in a collision.
"One of the simplest ways you can keep yourself safe whilst driving is by wearing your seatbelt, regardless of how short your journey is."
