With autumn upon us, residents across Hertfordshire and beyond will be looking to make the most of the weather before winter strikes.
The county is blessed with a wide variety of outdoor spaces and gardens in which to enjoy the final few weeks of warm temperatures.

With that in mind we've put together a list of five of the best rated gardens in Hertfordshire, with a little help from TripAdvisor.
1. Hatfield House, Hatfield
Hatfield House features a range of outdoor areas including west and east gardens, the Old Palace Garden and a Woodland Garden.
The location has a 4.5 star ratig on TripAdvisor, with 878 of 1,455 reviewers giving the location all five stars.
One reviewer, usernamed 'Green's' wrote: "Had an excellent tour of Hatfield Palace today with tour guide Dermot who is obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about the place.
"I would highly recommend the tour. The gardens were immaculate and very nice. Definitely worth a visit."
2.Hitchin Lavender, Hitchin
The purple fields of Hitchin Lavender is an attraction for visitors to enjoy a stroll amongst the crops, whilst taking in the Hertfordshire countryside.
The site will soon be hosting a pumpkin patch ahead of Halloween, which visitors can book via the Hitchin Lavender website.
The attraction has a four-star rating on TripAdvisor, with Zainab Al-Wazzan commenting: "Very nice field to spend the morning or the afternoon, a well maintained, very relaxing atmosphere, nice views and amazing helpful staff."
3. Cheslyn House & Gardens, Watford
Cheslyn House features a number of gardens designed by architect Henry Colbeck and his wife, Daisy.
Exotic plants that the duo collected as they travelled the world are featured throughout.
Cheslyn House & Gardens has a 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor, with 130 of 185 reviewers giving the attraction top marks.
4. Bushey Rose Garden, Bushey
Bushey Rose Garden features a garden designed by landscape architect’s Thomas Mawson, and provides an opportunity to experience Bushey's Victorian past.
The site has a 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor, with 72 of 103 reviewers giving the attraction all five stars.
Ali0818 commented: "Discovered this place by accident, it is so beautiful.
"There are bug hotels, bird tables, a funky bike rack and the roses are gorgeous."
5. Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead
Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead, features a number of outdoor spaces including the walled garden seen above.
The park has a 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor, with Jodie C writing: "What a lovely find!
"There is so much open space (many dog walkers) as well as a two playgrounds, a small skatepark and even a splash fountain that I know I will be bringing my own kids back to when the mercury rises this summer.
"The walled flower garden was so serene and aromatic."
