Planning permission has been granted for two 15-metre-high phone masts to be installed in Stevenage.
Stevenage Borough Council has given the green light for a phone mast to be erected at the junction of Bedwell Crescent and Fairlands Way, and another phone mast to be erected in Potters Lane.
The Bedwell Crescent/Fairlands Way application received more than a dozen objections from members of the public, with concerns including the mast being "monstrously tall and ugly", "impairing vehicle visibility", and being "too close to residential dwellings".

However, the council's planning officer said "the appearance of the proposed mast in this urban setting is acceptable and would not appear out of keeping", and said the highways authority has raised no concerns over the siting.
The Potters Lane application received three objections from members of the public.
